- Silkroad
What is primarily important: insurance or taxes ?, dental or bicycle doctor ?, tent or spare parts? In the last week before departure, I am properly overcame with the preparations. Until the departure on the 29th of march there are still some little things to do. The apartment looks like a battlefield. There are some things everywhere. How all this is finally to come on my bike, is still a mystery to me. Why are not there any Velosherpas yet? My desert ship is ready now too. The Exodus team has done a wonderful job and nothing can go wrong with Trudi on the handlebars.
Many, many thanks for your help! At the beginning of March, Bruno Baumann spoke with his lecture "In the Footsteps of the Buddha" in Chur. His book "Abenteuer Seidenstrasse" inspired me a year ago to plan the journey along the Silk Road. His knowledge as a Tibet and Buddha expert is fascinating. He probably would have been able to continue for another 5 hours. Alex Keller and Susanne Spoelmink from Explora gave me a short talk with Bruno and a photo.
What a feeling! Now I know how the hysterical screaming girls always feel at the pop concerts. Merci you two. A day later, it was over and over at the SOS Laax. In parting I got a T.A.K. (Taliban Defense Knüpel) with gel cushion for on the saddle. Now I am definitely prepared for all eventualities.
There must also be time for a running training between the preparations. After all, you do not want to get into the saddle untrained. In the sense: good run and see you soon.
