Ahoi Dunaj!

Ahoi Dunaj!

From Vienna Tom and I drove on to Slovakia. Currently we are in Budapest. In total, three capitals were hit in one week. It was almost a stone's throw from Vienna to Bratislava. Then a strong wind set in, which almost blew us towards Budapest. I also noticed that two-wheelers are much easier in pairs than alone! Wild camping is working pretty well now.

Slovakia is a great contrast to the previous countries. Today we crossed the Hungarian border to Esztergom. The Hungarian writer Mihály Babits called it "the Hungarian Rome". It is one of the oldest cities in Hungary. Especially worth seeing is the basilica.

After only 70 more kilometers came Budapest. Due to the strong wind we could do a short city tour.
For the grand finale, we went to eat in a real restaurant. What a feeling! Unfortunately, there are no extra large portions for hungry cyclists! Fortunately, the Budapesters have a few 24h shops where you can satisfy your hunger. Tomorrow we continue in the direction of Belgrade. Dosvidanje!
